Cameron is an admitted Australian solicitor, specialising in international construction disputes.
He has experience acting for a wide range of clients, including government to private owners, employers, contractors, engineering consultants and subcontractors. His experience spans a variety of dispute resolution processes, with a particular emphasis on international construction arbitration, as well as litigation, mediation and statutory adjudication.
Cameron’s experience has been gained across multiple sectors, including mining and resources, renewable energy, logistics, tourism, government, transport infrastructure (roads, rail and airports) and public infrastructure (hospitals and water treatment facilities). He has worked on projects in a number of jurisdictions, including across Australia, as well as in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.
In addition to formal dispute resolution, Cameron has experience in project delivery, contract administration and risk mitigation, working closely with clients to provide commercially-focussed advice and support successful project outcomes.
Cameron’s experience includes:
- Acting on behalf of a global automated cold storage facility and cold chain logistics operator in arbitration proceedings with respect to a AUD$360 million project in Melbourne, Australia, involving claims for defects and liquidated damages, and defending contractor claims for entitlement to variations.
- Acting on behalf of a Chinese Joint Venture Contractor on a £70 million Hydroelectric Power Project, involving claims for delay and prolongation under the dispute resolution procedure of a contract with the Government owned Employer.
- Acting on behalf of a Contractor in relation to an Airport redevelopment project worth USD$35 million against the Government owned Employer. The dispute involved multiple claims regarding delays and prolongation related to infrastructure and earthworks.
- Acting on behalf of a multi-national mining contractor in disputes arising from the AUD$2.6 billion Amrun Bauxite project in North Queensland, involving judicial review proceedings in the Supreme Court of Western Australia following six contentious statutory adjudications.
